Itinerary Summary

10 Day budget safari in Serengeti is also known as “The Great Wildebeest Migration Safari”, the wonderful long safari that will let you experience the great wildebeest adventures . Guests will also enjoy the wonders of Ngorongoro crater and interact with Masai in Ngorongoro highlands.

Extension include also visiting Tarangire and Manyara The safari encompasses camping accommodation with option to use standard lodges. We use well maintained safari vehicles with roof opening for a clear and panoramic landscape and wildlife viewing.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha 

We will arrange a private transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Arusha where you will get hotel accommodation. Get a safari briefing and an final checkup before departure to the bush.

Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara

After breakfast, begin a safari by driving to beautiful Manyara National Park for game viewing. Stay overnight at the chosen lodge

Day 3: Lake Manyara to Serengeti

After morning breakfast we take a game drive enroute to the great Serengeti plains via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a picnic lunch proceed with game drive in the central Serengeti national park around Seronera or trace the direction of the migration.

Day 4: A full day game drive in Serengeti

Depending on the current year migration timing, the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffe, zebras, monkey, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes as well as a multitude of birds. Dinner and overnight at the chosen lodge.

Day 5:  full day game drive in Serengeti 

After breakfast we will take the lunch box with us and proceed with the game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The migration can be seen on a long chain approximately 20-40 Km heading to the south western direction. After lunch we will proceed with our game viewing following the move of the migrants on the southwest of the park. Approximately 2 million wildebeest, 250,000 gazelles and 500,000 Zebras have been recorded taking part in the migration sharing the same pastures

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

We will have an early morning game drive in the Serengeti followed by picnic lunch on the way to Ngorongoro crater. We will stop at Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of man’s earliest known ancestral remains.  Dinner and overnight at the chosen lodge.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

We expect to descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for the lifetime adventure crater tour where you will explore the forest areas inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where we may see flamingos. We will also visit the open savannah where the lions hunt. Picnic lunch will be served in the crater. Dinner and overnight at the chosen lodge.

Day 8: Ngorongoro to Tarangire

Drive to Tarangire National Park for excellent game viewing. In dry seasons Tarangire has its  congregation of wildlife and birdlife in the Tarangire River which is the only supply of water in the area. We will spend the night in the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the chosen lodge.

Day 9: Cultural Hikes in Tarangire

After morning breakfast it is the relaxation and or explore the masai and Datoga cultures by walking around and visit datoga and Masai tribes.  You will get an opportunity to learn about their history, some events and makeups. Dinner and overnight at the chosen lodge.

Day 10: Tarangire to Arusha

This lovely lodge is located near the airport and your accommodations will be in one of the 40 charming bungalows set among the gardens. The open air bar has a magnificent view of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Relax the remainder of the day by the pool, or soak in the view from your bungalow. A late dinner buffet for those flying in late is provided. Dinner and overnight at the chosen lodge.
