Itinerary Description by Day
DAY 1: HISTORICAL TOUR
After arriving to Zanzibar airport/ harbor we will transfer you to Stone Town Hotel for check inn. Get a short brief introduction of the tour. In Stone town tour we will take you around the historical culture and architectural important town of Zanzibar. The tour includes a visit to former slave market site, now stands as Anglican Church built in 1871 and also a tour to town market. We will also visit the Zanzibar Memorial Museum, old Arab Fort, Palace Museum, Old Indian dispensary (cultural centre) to Maruhubi Palace ruins via Living Stone House. Dinner and overnight at your hotel
DAY 2: DOLPHIN AND JOZANI FOREST TOUR
Coast dolphin tour a trip to dolphin watching tour, a day trip to kizimkazi, wonderful you may swim with hundreds of spinner & bottle – nose dolphins playing off Kizimkazi beach and give you chance to experience special natural message in the Indian ocean, at the afternoon driving to Jozani forest safari for red Colobus Monkeys, natural forest, and mangrove forest the living spices of fish underneath. Visit Zala Park to learn on how local people become creative to protect the natural living reptiles, back to Stone Town for dinner and overnight stay at Tembo Hotel.
DAY 3: SPICE TOUR
Today you will go on an excursion to the spice and fruit plantations close to Stone town for the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a special spice tour with in depth information not only about spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description about their traditional uses in medicine, cosmetics and cooking. After the tour we invite for a delicious lunch at our guides’ home, where you can taste the spices and fruits. Later on in the evening have dinner and overnight stay at Tembo Hotel.
DAY 4: HOUSE OF WONDERS TOUR
The House of Wonders show the cultural and architectural influences of Zanzibar, Britain, Portugal, and Oman over the centuries .House of Wonder built in 1883 (Beit-Al-Ajab). When it was built it was the most modern building in East Africa. It was the first building to have electricity and an elevator. The House of Wonders hosts a historical exhibition and offers insight into Zanzibar and Swahili culture. It is a very important and visually stunning historic building in Stone Town. The House of Wonders is the grandest and tallest building in all of Stone Town and is found in a prominent location in front of the Forodhani Gardens on the old town’s waterfront along Mizingani Road.
DAY 5: ZANZIBAR TO THE AIRPORT
Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport to take a flight back home. If you are flying out of Dar es Salaam or Nairobi, we will arrange a connection flight for you to catch your flight back home.
